Pellet profiteers out of PNW!

A background forest thick with trees, a foreground biomass manufacturing plant, belching white smoke into a blurred sky.

Two big wood pellet producers are trying to set up shop in Washington State: Drax and PNWRE.  They want to export wood pellets to burn in coal-power plants in Asia.  They want to use native forests of the Pacific Northwest for their pellets.

Pellet production is dirty and noisy.   Pellet production has ravaged communities in the U.S. South.  Pellet production will harm human health in Cowlitz and Grays Harbor counties.  Demand for wood fiber will increase logging in western Washington while competing unfairly with existing forest product businesses for raw materials.

Do we want these companies here?
